Return to Family Group Chart

Edward was described as a dapper man. He continued to live after his marriage at the huge plantation home of his father so he could keep the agricultural endeavors moving forward efficiently and profitably while his doctor-father practiced medicine over a wide area, making trips by buggy to all points where he was most needed. Eventually he and his wife owned a large farm near Crystal Springs, MS. The home had been on a knoll with a pond. After his wifes death he moved to the Rio Grand Valley, TX. He could no longer live on the old farm without her. He bought land for about $2.50 an acre. Uncle Willie Scott bought land near him and they started an orchard.
